Ramblin' Rose became "Rosie the Riveter" for the Wild Wild
West Convention in Portland Oregon on Labor Day, 2002. She had won
awards (CruiserFest 2002 was one of them) with her original Cargo
Display. She had been featured in the Cruiser Quarterly Magazine
(Premier Edition). She wanted to try something else. As we
were driving through Folsom CA one day, she heard a recording of the
Andrew Sisters singing "The Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy" and she
was hooked. She became Rosie the Riveter.
At the Portland Convention she was
honored to accept the Runner-up award for cargo Display. The First
Place winner was a really cool Elvis display at "Deb's Diner".
So in the future, watch out, she may be Ramblin' Rose OR Rosie the
Riveter. Depends on her mood the day before the event. She
surely can't be "The Yellow Rose of Texas". |
