 Buying a PT CRUISER

We received a call from Jeff Poteet, our salesman, on Tuesday, November 14, 2000.  He told us that our car was being "prepped" and that "if" we wanted to come in on Wednesday, we could pick it up.  You didn't have to ask us twice.
We set an appointment for 7:00 p. m.  We arrived at the dealer at 7:10, too much traffic, and by 9:30, we were on our way home and by 10:15, Ramblin' Rose was safely tucked away under blankets in the garage.

The entire process went without a hitch.  Jeff had our keys on the desk.  We both took a test drive, oohed and aahed over the car, and then proceeded with the paperwork.  After a few cups of coffee and some popcorn, we said thanks to Jeff and headed home.

Once we arrived home, we remembered that we had forgotten to buy a car cover.  We have two cats and they like to sleep on top of the cars in the garage.  There was no way that they were going to sleep on Ramblin' Rose's shiny new paint so we covered her in blankets.  After one more look through the backdoor, we said "Good Night" to the car.  She was "so cute" sitting in the garage all toasty warm wrapped in queen-sized blankets.

For all of you who wonder about those things, we paid the "Window Sticker" price for the car.  No More - No Less   Our Dealer's policy, at the time we paid our deposit,  was that there would be no "surcharge" put on a PT CRUISER.  We know of several people who have paid $3,000 to $8,000 over the "Sticker Price".

Speaking of "sticker price"... we have the window sticker from Ramblin' Rose.  It says that the vehicle was especially made for Michelle and Clyde Waldrop.  How about that?

BOTTOM-LINE :  WE ALL HAVE "CRUISERS" and that's really all that counts.  A fun car to own and to drive, but more on that later....
